Here’s a great project for videographers, schools, nonprofits or other groups.

Help end cyberbullying–kids who harass each other online–by creating a public service announcement on the issue. Sony Creative Software, the National Crime Prevention Council and the Ad Council want entries from independent producers and schools (K-12). The top submissions may be eligible for national broadcast, and their producer or sponsoring school will receive a complete multimedia editing suite valued at over $18,000.

All entries must be received by January 11, 2008 to be eligible.

Midwest Folding Products Someone once said, “To get the best results, use the right tools.” That applies to teaching, too. Children learn best in an environment that is clean, safe, comfortable, organized and uncluttered. So to keep your students comfortable and safe, start with the right school furniture.

One company, Midwest Folding Products, has thought of solutions to many of the challenges your school will encounter during the school year. They offer school furniture products ranging from mobile stages and choral risers to a wide range of tables.

Midwest Folding products are made with durable product design and quality craftsmanship, so they deliver the best value in the educational industry. Starting with high quality raw materials, Midwest’s fully-integrated factory fashions steel, wood and plastic materials into a wide variety of institutional grade products designed to perform trouble-free for many years, even within the most demanding high-use environments.

Some of the most popular Midwest Folding school furniture products are:

  • Mobile Stages: These are a line of seated Mobile Stages for the choral, band or orchestra department that can be assembled into a horseshoe, winged or arc configuration. There is a wide choice of deck finishes, carpet colors and skirting colors to complete the stage. Mobile and Portable Stages are also offered in a wide variety of sizes along with safety guard rails and step units that secure to any area of the stage perimeter.
  • Choral Risers: Midwest Folding Choral Risers can be assembled into either an arc or straight arrangement. The most popular, the Transfold Choral Riser, is ready to go wherever your choir performs. The Choral Risers are built to ensure a safe, controlled motion when folding the unit for transportation and storage. Built in wheels make it easy to roll the Transfold Choral Riser from the classroom or storage area to the auditorium, as well as up stairways and onto a bus or van. Midwest Folding’s exclusive, gas-spring assisted design allows the unit to open with moderate foot pressure - meaning you don’t have to strain yourself. In addition, the Transfold Choral Risers can be set up in seconds - so that they are ready when you are.
  • Tables: Midwest Folding offers a wide range of raining tables, conference and utility tables. In addition, there are tables and benches for cafeteria seating.

Midwest Folding also offers a line of Hospitality products ranging from Mobile Bar, Buffet Units and Banquet Tables, as well as caddies and trucks to keep transport and set up as easy as possible.

“The Copernicus Royal Reading Writing Center is the best board we have ever found, and we now
use it exclusively in hundreds of classrooms. The surface has been proven to be very durable. The construction is solid, holds up to daily, heavy classroom use. The storage buckets are a wonderful addition that our teachers really enjoy.”

Adding the side basket for big books has also made my life easier.” - Cheryl Upfold, St. John’s Kilmarnock School

“I like being able to use the reading center while both standing and sitting. I move it where I need it quickly and effortlessly. The storage bins in the bottom are great. I can keep everything I need all in one place, and still be organized. ” - Manda Rupert, Sugar Valley Elementary

“Our school district purchased over 20 of the Royal Reading and Writing Centers in the past 2 years. They are wonderful, an incredible teaching tool. I use my Royal Writing and Reading Center every school day and love it! It is so versatile and instrumental in my day, I can’t imagine a teaching day without it. It is so convenient with an erasable white board on one side and a magnetic board on the other side, large hooks for flip chart paper, four large sections on the bottom and it’s all on locking wheels! It’s a must for all classrooms! I truly love it and use it a lot. Thank You!” - Virginia Wolbert, East Hill Elementary School

Copernicus Educational ProductsSomewhere out there lurks a teacher trying to grab the attention of a student… a teacher trying to stimulate the imagination and nurture the minds of our future leaders. Whether these children will become political leaders, CEO’s, doctors, nurses, teachers, astronauts or productive citizens is not yet known. Copernicus Educational Products wants to assist teachers with this goal.

Today Copernicus offers 15 major product lines. They are chiefly forms of easels and storage cabinets on wheels, specifically designed for grade school classrooms. These products were created by teachers for teachers - and made to be functional and durable. They generally sell for about $150 to $600, with the best-selling model going for about $350. Below is a list of Copernicus’ most popular product line - The Reading Writing Centers.
